When keeping your pool in tip-top condition its important to know that the Ph is not the sole or most important factor for a healthy pool. If you keep on top of yours pools filtration and sanitization the most important health indicator is the Alkalinity.

The most important component of pool water balance is TOTAL ALKALINITY, not the pH. If your total alkalinity is not within operational parameters, then attacking the pH is like a dog chasing its tail, in the pool industry its known as "pH bounce". Throwing a chemical cocktail in your swimming pool is not the answer to get the correct Ph!

Because ionisers do not oxidise (burn out organic matter such as sunscreen, cosmetics, body oils, etc.) the primary task of the dosing pump is to inject a *PMS-based solution directly into the filtration system. An oxidiser is usually only required in the swimming season. Rarely. if ever needed in the off-season

If you are a new pool owner who finds that they are constantly adding sodium bicarbonate to lift the total alkalinity, replacing the PMS with bicarb in solution will eliminate that task forever.

Alternatively, pool owners who experience the frustration of constantly adding acid to lower the pH** may choose to use the dosing pump to inject HCL (hydrochloric acid) thus eliminating this task.

*Oxygen-rich non-chlorine oxidiser - potassium momopersulphate.
** Often experienced in areas subjected to alkaline rainfalls.

Swim clear of pool water chemical cocktails, no need for "quick fix" chemicals with an Aquavic!
