plumbonline bring you the latest in DC water pump technology from Lowara Pumps, this EcoCirc D5 Solar powered pump has many uses at home or in the great outdoors, with a 5M head and up to 0.45 m³/h flow. The EcoCirc can be used wherever you need a circulation pump but dont have access to an AC power supply, the DC5 can be connected directly to a photovoltaic panel or suitable battery.
The Ecocirc D5 pumps can be used wherever a highly efficient circulation pump is needed without a direct connection to AC power. They are characterised by their small size, high efficiency and very low power consumption. The shaftless spherical motor technology enables a long, maintenance free and quiet service life. Areas of application are circulating systems in industrial or medical applications, computer and laser cooling, hot water heating in a mobile home, weekend home or boat with battery-powered pump, ponds and aquariums, domestic hot water systems and car heaters.
Maximum power point tracking (MPP)
The Ecocirc D5 solar pump can be connected directly to a photovoltaic panel and has a Maximum power point tracking (MPP) that optimises the pump performance according to the available sunlight. The Ecocirc DC pumps are the first and only spherical motor pumps with self-optimizing software. Every 3 seconds, the processor will modify its operating point on the voltage-current curve of the PV panel to find the point of maximum performance. At this point, the pump achieves the maximum rpm and therefore the maximum performance. There is no need for a separate performance adaptation, the pump will always find its best operating point under any given light and temperature conditions by itself.
The pump has been programmed for a soft start-up. When the photovoltaic panel provides sufficient power, the pump first goes through the alignment phase, turning the rotor into the position required for start-up. Then the processor waits until the built-in capacitor has recharged sufficiently. This enables a start-up with minimal power (less than one Watt). Cycling due to unsuccessful starting attempts is minimised. Even after prolonged shutdown, the pump will start reliably.
