Why can't this be installed in Victoria?
From 1 May 2026, any plumbing product that touches drinking water and is used in regulated plumbing work in Victoria has to be certified lead-free (0.25% or less weighted average lead content) and carry the Lead-Free WaterMark. This product doesn't, so a licensed plumber can't legally install it in a potable water system there, no transition period, no exceptions for permits issued earlier.
So why are you still selling it?
Because it's perfectly legal to buy and sell nationwide, and it's still installable in every other state and territory until the national deadline of 1 May 2028. Plenty of legitimate uses remain non-potable applications, and jurisdictions outside Victoria that haven't hit their deadline yet.
Whose job is it to get this right?
Yours (well, the purchaser's and the installer's). Rules vary by state and change over time, so it's on you to confirm the product is compliant for where and how you're installing it.
