Performance & Operational Limits: Operating Pressure: While these are plastic housings, they are designed to handle the vacuum and flow of standard domestic pumps. They should not be installed on the discharge (high-pressure) side of a pump unless specified for that model, as the "air release screw" and casing are optimized for suction-side sediment trapping.
Flow Rate: These kits are typically paired with pumps ranging from 40 L/min to 170 L/min. Because they use a coarse washable mesh rather than a fine pleated paper cartridge, they offer very low resistance to flow (minimal pressure drop) when clean.
Filtration Level: Designed for "coarse sediment" protection (e.g., leaves, grit, and plastic shavings from tank installs). They are not rated for sub-micron filtration or potable water purification.
Installation & Maintenance Notes: Placement: Must be installed between the tank and the pump. Installing them after the pump exposes the housing to high-pressure spikes which can cause the casing to crack or the O-ring to fail.
Priming: Use the air release screw on top of the housing to bleed trapped air during initial pump priming. If the pump is struggling to "grab" water, air in the filter housing is the most common culprit.
