Evaporative air conditioners are a effective way to cool your home using a tried and tested method. Evaporative air conditioners or commonly called "Evap Coolers" use evaporation to cool the air in the home or workplace. A typical evaporative cooler has a pump that circulates water from the reservoir up to the cooling pads via a riser and spray nozzle pipe run, the pads are wetted by the spray nozzles. A fan draws air from outside the Evap cooler unit through the moistened pad.

As the outside hot air passes through the wetted pad the air is cooled by evaporation. To ensure effective evaporative cooling is achieved the cooling pads must be completely saturated during operation. It is also important that the systems fan & motor are sized and designed to deliver the appropriate airflow for the home.
